It’s time to go racing
Wow, it’s Monday night, the week of the big event we’ve all been waiting for. I wrapped up a few things in the office today, turned on my “Out of Office” message on my e-mail and forwarded my phone into the voice mail system. If you want to leave me a message, I won’t be seeing it until next Tuesday because it’s time for the Red Bull Indianapolis GP!

My Red Bull Indianapolis GP experience started 14 months ago with the filming of the event announcement video on the “Yard of Bricks” at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. There have been numerous other experiences I’ve chronicled over the past 10 months and shared with you all here at “The Experience.”

KTM Moto TaxisAnother activity I’ve been working on is the Moto Taxi team. This is a team of guys who will be responsible for transporting fallen or disabled riders back to the pits. We will be using a fleet of KTM 990 Adventure motorcycles that have been supplied by KTM North America for Moto Taxi duty. Our good friends over at Tucker Rocky have outfitted the team with MSR riding gear, so we’ll be styling in high fashion.

Orientation DayThis past Saturday was our orientation and training day at the track. We had the KTMs available for everyone on the team to check out and get comfortable on. After some facilities orientation time and a review of our team’s responsibilities, the guys mounted up on the KTMs to check out all the Indianapolis Motor Speedway grounds.

Learning the lay of the landProbably one of the biggest challenges we’ll face over the weekend will be maneuvering those big KTM 990 Adventure motorcycles through throngs of race fans. Who knows whom we may have on the back of one of those bikes? Hopefully not one of your favorite MotoGP stars!

I’d like to invite each and every one of you to be there to help make those crowds the biggest a MotoGP event has ever experienced. This weekend, all roads lead to Indy.

The big day is just about here!I also need to thank Don “Moose” Parish for tagging along over the past 10 months and documenting many of the events and experiences with his photography.

If you haven’t got your tickets yet, go to www.redbullindianapolisgp.com for purchase information, and I’ll see you all in Indianapolis later this week.
