And there’s more to come…

Tony George and Nicky HaydenWow, what a year 2008 has been! After more than a year of planning and preparations, the inaugural Red Bull Indianapolis GP reintroduced motorcycle racing to the Brickyard. After almost a 100-year absence, motorcycles crossed that famous Yard of Bricks out on West 16th Street in Speedway, Ind.

Yes, Mother Nature made for a challenging event this year, but all the stars of MotoGP put on one of the most spectacular events to ever compete at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Stoner gets a liftThis past year also saw the launch of several enthusiast, participant and staff blogs to share many of our experiences leading up to the inaugural running of the Red Bull Indianapolis GP. Jarrod, Jana and I have had a great time bringing our weekly blogs to you, sharing many of our experiences in and around the local motorcycle scene.  All of us have really enjoyed all the “Fan Photos,” “Talkback” and “Design It” submissions you have contributed to www.redbullindianapolisgp.com over the past year.

IMS Centennial Era logoAs 2008 draws to an end, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway embarks on its Centennial Era in 2009, celebrating a century of motor racing since 1909. Stay tuned here at www.redbullindianapolisgp.com for lots of exciting events throughout the year out on West 16th Street at the Racing Capital of the World®.

With this, I’m signing off for 2008 but want to wish everyone all the best for the holiday season. I’ll see you all next year, 2009, here at www.redbullindianapolisgp.com.

Season Greetings and Happy New Year.
