As I mentioned last week, I planned my wedding the same weekend as the Red Bull Indianapolis GP, or as I like to say it, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway planned the Inaugural GP on my wedding weekend …
Wedding Tip Number One: Check with your place of work before you set a wedding date.
My fiancée and I had been struggling with a date on which we were going to commit our lives to each other. There were a few factors that we needed to consider before we actually set the date.
1. When is the IndyCar Series season going to be completed or have an off weekend? My job as director of multimedia platforms for IMS Productions requires me to be involved with the IndyCar Series season.
2. When will the NASCAR Nationwide Series season have an off weekend? My brother races in that series.
3. When will the weather be nice? We are planning on an outdoor wedding.
4. Finally, when will the IndyCar Series and Nationwide Series have off weekends together?
Piece of cake, right? We’ll just set the date on Sept. 13 when the IndyCar Series is finished racing and the Nationwide Series is off.
In comes the announcement of the MotoGP race! Now what?? Sept. 12 it is!
We call it a destination wedding for everyone – well, not really everyone – to enjoy a weekend full of fast bikes, fun parties and, of course, our wedding.
