I am blogging to blog at this moment, Wednesday, Feb. 13. This is my second day home from work with what I like to call “The killer flu that won’t kill me!”

Just so you understand the pain that I am typing through right now, every strike of the keyboard is like getting poked in the eyes, followed by a sword slicing my head in half and a circus monkey clapping each side of my skull like cymbals! It hurts.

As I sit here at home, I have been spending an awful lot of time in bed with the best nurse possible – Rex, my dog. I can’t tell you how unconditional love makes you feel almost better. Perhaps this is just the type of sickness that takes more than a trip to the doctor and some meds. In fact, it takes a bed, fluids, Tamiflu, throat syrup, Advil Cold and Sinus, Mucinex and whatever else I can take to ease the pain! What’s worse is that my little boy, Van, is going through the same thing!

On Friday, Feb. 8, I rode to work on a beautiful day and took advantage of Triumph’s slow service period here in the winter to get a few items worked on. For Christmas, my fellow Tiger rider Phil got me a turn-signal minder. He always nags me about leaving my signal on when we go riding. I also ordered crash bars for my bike because I figured if nothing else, they would help protect the bike if it was tipped over because nobody ever crashes motorcycles!!!

Finally, I had the boys at Triumph take my wheels to get powder-coated black. I have a Black on Black on Black FJ Cruiser, so I figured I would match my bike in case I was ever invited to be on “MTV Cribs.” The most important segment of “Cribs” is the garage full of whips.

Back to reality. I should have my bike back and running next week with its new wheels. As soon as I get it all polished up, I’ll post a new picture!
